As I mentioned in a haul post a while ago, I ran out of my Rocket mascara so I had to go and get myself a new one. I knew I wanted a waterproof version and I was very keen on trying another Maybelline mascara.
So I went
to the drugstore and checked out every single waterproof mascara they had, and
after a short elimination, i was left deciding between the Rocket and the
Colossal Volume one. My friend suggested that as a »beauty blogger« I was
practically obliged to try something new so I decided to go with this one.
This
mascara comes with a rather big wand with a lot of bristles. It was the wand
that actually got me interested in this one (besides the mention of a colossal
volume –I mean who doesn't want that?).
The formula
is initially quite liquid –which I really like. The wand doesn't pick up too
much product, which helps you control the amount of product that you apply to
the lashes and the way it shapes them.
I was quite surprised that you can
achieve a really voluminous look as well as a very natural clean look with this
mascara. You just have to be careful with how you apply it.
The biggest
downside is that after 5/6 hours, the formula kind of changes which causes the
upper and lower lashes to start sticking together. But I only notice this
problem when wearing lots of mascara on my upper and lower lashes. The problem
is easily solved if you use a different mascara for your lower lashes. Also, it does take a bit more time than I am
used to, because it can start looking very clumpy and stuck together if you
apply it fast and carelessly.
Overall, it
is a good mascara, but when it runs out, I will probably go back to my beloved
Rocket.
