*Review: Algea -dietary supplement-

The first quarter of the year is more or less over and most of the new year’s resolutions are already forgotten. However, being quite stubborn this year, I am still trying to stick to at least some of them.

As a main part of my resolutions was to eat healthier and try to transition (at least partially) to a plant based diet. For that reason, I was quite excited when I was offered a chance to test Algea, an algae supplement that is supposed to have all sorts of health benefits. I have given it a proper try and here is what I think about it:

16 New Year's Resolutions for 2016

Even though we are already in the middle of January, I still want to share my New Year’s resolutions with you. It took me the longest time to decide whether I want to post the resolutions on the blog, given that there seem to be many mixed opinions on making New Year’s resolutions. To me, I see them as an opportunity to grow, change, improve or learn something new. As it is the year 2016, I came up with 16 different resolutions, some more significant than others, but I want to give all of them a try this year:

Blogmas Day 20: Christmas Baking

December is the time when I spend a lot of time in my kitchen, baking and creating yummy treats. One of my favourite things to do is decorating a gingerbread house, but this year I decided to add a few of my own extra touches.

It's All Abour Fall

The unbearable heat wave is finally over and we are slowly transitioning into autumn, which is one of my favorite seasons. Crisp air, colorful nature, wearing layers and pumpkin spiced everything is upon us, so I prepared a post of suggestions for a few makeup, lifestyle and beauty items that are perfect for fall. Cozy up with a cup of hot tea (now that it is cold enough for it) and enjoy the post!

All about Primark (Seiersberg, Austria)

Ever since I first stumbled upon a Primark store in London, I was always drawn back to it. Unbelievable bargains and the latest fashion trends are quite irresistible and when I was travelling I always made sure to check if there is a Primark store around.

Exploring Trieste (& Kiko, MAC Haul)

One of my favorite things in life, are spontaneous road trips. We've always been a bit of wanderers by heart in our family. We can never stay in the same place for too long, and we are always looking for new weekend trip destination or mid-day de-tours.

(this might be) The most beautiful bag ever

It's time to share one of my favorite Christmas gifts with you! I first spotted this gorgeous bag in H&M at the beginning of the summer in Italy. I might have mentioned it to my boyfriend a few times, and this Christmas, I found it under the tree.

Blogmas 28: Advice to my younger self

A while ago I read a similar post on Sanja's blog –Sparkle with laughter- and ever since wanted to do one myself.  I think it fits perfectly in this time of year, since we are thinking about New Year’s resolutions and are looking for a way to improve ourselves. Here is what I would tell my younger self if I had a chance to meet me:

Blogmas 10: Almost a year of blogging

Today I am doing something a bit different than usual. This post that you are reading is my 100th post and since my blog will be 1 year old on the last of December, I wanted to take this opportunity to look back and share some of my favorite moments with you.

I was obsessed with you tube and beauty blogs long before I started thinking about writing my own blog. It was Promise Phan that I first discovered on YouTube and then my subscription box started expanding very quickly. After that I started following more and more beauty bloggers and soon found out, I also want to share my opinions and experience with others.

I was thinking about starting the blog for almost a year before actually starting to work on it. I'm glad that I took my time and started slowly. I spend months thinking about the name of the blog and finally came up with the name Beautysaur –which I still love, so I think I did a good job. The design of the blog was another story, because I had no experience, but I am slowly starting to get the hang of things, and I love how the design of my blog is improving.  (Even though it is in a very over-the-top Christmas form right now!)

It was quite hard for me to learn how to photograph and edit photos in order to get the best representation of the product and its color. I promised to myself, that I will always be honest in my reviews and that I will do my best to use only my own pictures (except when writing about products I don't actually have, like wish lists and similar).

It was working for quite a long time on my first post, made so many pictures, used so many light and then finally had it ready and prepared a few days before I wanted to post it. On the New Year's eve, I showed it to my boyfriend, and after his »approval« I posted my first post.

Since then, I've been learning as I go, I try to improve the looks and the content of my blog with every new post I do and I love seeing how more and more people respond to it. Recently, I've created a Facebook page for my blog and this way »showed« the blog to people who also know me in the real life, and for now, the reactions have been lovely.

Blogmas 9: Late Night Shopping Haul

At the end of November, my cousin suggested we go to the Late Night Shopping event that was happening in some of the malls in Slovenia. I must admit that at first, I didn't want to go because I was too tired, but now, I am incredibly happy that we went.

Blogmas 8: I Heart Winter Tag

Do you like the cold?
I love the cold. I never was a particularly summer-y person and I feel much more at home in the cold winter.  After all, you can always put on another layer when you are cold, right?
I love the crisp air and the cold smell in the air, especially when there is snow outside.

Favorite part about winter?
Snow, cold, Christmas, fairy lights, cinnamon, mulled wine,… -I love everything about winter!
What is your favorite Christmas drink?
An honorary mention has to go to my mum's homemade tea –yum! But without the doubt, red mulled wine is a perfect winter drink!

Do you do any outdoor activity in the winter?
Does shoveling count? Besides that I love being in the snow –snow fights, building snowmen, snow forts and long walks with the doggies.
 Favorite winter scent?
In general, I adore cinnamon-y and spicy scents, also orange and cloves, but to be more specific, I recently got a new body spray from H&M and I am obsessed! (I will write more about it very soon!)

Does it snow where you live?
Yes, luckily it does. Unfortunately, we haven't had a white Christmas in a few years, but I have high hopes for this one!
 Favorite clothing item in winter?
My coat –I adore it. And all of my scarves, hats and mittens.

Your favorite winter memory?
The one that came first to my mind is last year's. I got a new dog in the summer and when it snowed for the first time, I took her out to »show« her the snow. She was so confused and afraid of the strange white stuff that appeared from the sky, it was the cutest thing ever!

What is your favorite thing about winter?

Thanks for reading and see you tomorrow!

Happy holidays,
your Beautysaur
