Blogmas Day 20: Christmas Baking

December is the time when I spend a lot of time in my kitchen, baking and creating yummy treats. One of my favourite things to do is decorating a gingerbread house, but this year I decided to add a few of my own extra touches.

For a few years in a row, I've been buying a gingerbread house kit in Ikea, but this year I decided to bake a few cookies on my own. I added a tree, and a gingerbread man and even found a cookie cutter that slightly resembles my dog. With a lot of imagination and a few sweeties on hand, you can easily decorate the cookies to your liking and create the perfect winter wonderland.

At the same time I also gave these candy cane inspired cookies a go, but because they were hard to design, due to the soft dough, I moved on to creating these swirly ones. No matter the shape, they all tasted delicious.

Here I'm listing the recipes that I used as inspiration, but as always, my cooking is always subjected to a certain amount of interpretation:

Hope you found the post interesting and that it will inspire you to do a bit of Christmas baking yourself.

What are your favourite treats to make in the festive season?

See you tomorrow!
