Blogmas Day 21: (high)LIGHT it up!

Never being the one to stray away from a matte finish foundation, I find it quite interesting that I seem to have fallen in love with highlighters.

Even though there certainly is true, that the golden, yellow toned shades suit me way better, I enjoy a combination of different finishes to go with many different looks. Many of the items in this post are limited edition, but most of the brands (especially Essence) tend to come out with similar products every year and you are bound to find something to suit your needs.

Kaviar Gauche for Catrice LE blurring Powder Pearls C01 Sweet Secret

A lovely mixture of white and rose toned shimmery pearls create a lovely veil of subtle shimmer that can work either as a highlighter or a finishing radiant powder for the whole face.

Kiko Golden Game Sculpting Bronzer 01 Radiant Honey

Put together with the lovely contouring set, this golden shimmery highlighter is the perfect way to finish the face. It is quite shimmery, but that would make it absolutely great for Christmas.

Essence Merry Berry TE Highlighter Powder 01 i love my golden pumps

Un piece de resistance form Essence's Christmas collection, this incredibly gorgeous golden powder gives the face the perfect glow. The beautiful starry design only adds to its beauty.

Essence Bloom Me Up! TE Shimmer Powder 01 rose it up

This one was one of the first highlighters in my collection adn is a really pretty slightly pink toned shimmery powder. Even though it's not always perfect for my skin tone, it looks stunning with a rose-gold eye makeup.

Kiko Rebel Romantic LE Contouring Pencil Highlighter

Slightly yellow undertoned but still a little bit shimmery, this works lovely for a more heavily contoured look, when I use this to highlight under my eyes before applying foundation.

The Balm Betty-Lou Manizer aka The Bronzing Bandit

While not strictly a traditional highlighter, this is a glorious product. In the summer, I tan really really easily and get quite dark and can actually use this as a highlighter if I blend it well. But in the winter, I love to use it as bronzer/blush substitute and it helps me create the perfect bronze look. It does work perfect as an eyeshadow as well.

What is your favorite highlighter?

See you tomorrow!
