Blogmas Day 16: Winter Scents

For someone who used to stick to one perfume at the time, my collection of perfumes has grown extensively in the last year. There are some in my collection that I find to be perfect in the winter time and I'm sharing them with you today:

Scents are such an interesting concept and I love discovering different notes and levels of perfumes. Over the years I've found that I always gravitate towards perfumes that contain jasmine, musk, amber or neroli. But even though there is a certain scent-type that I prefer, I still enjoy and use so many different ones.

The perfumes today are currently my go-to choices. Because I don't really trust my »nose« yet, I checked Fragnatica website and included a little description from there:

Vera Wang Lovestruck Eau de Parfum

Lovestruck opens with notes of exotic and juicy pink guava and soothing angelica blossom. The middle notes “bloom” with tones of intoxicating and sensual tuberose with aquatic lotus flower. Precious woody notes and sheer musk form a solid perfume base.

In all honesty, the first thing that draw me to this perfume was the bottle. Without ever even smelling it, I ordered it online, and luckily, this scent is absolutely divine. This scent reminds me of man’s perfumes, probably due to the woody and musk notes in it. Because of that, it has a unique, sensual but fresh scent. From the moment I first smelled it, this completely stole my heart and it will always have a special place in my perfume collection.

Lady Gaga Fame Eau de Parfum
The fragrance is built on three main accords: dark accord, sensual accord and light accord. The dark accord includes poisonous flower Belladonna and incense, which evolve into the sensual and opulent wave of honey drops, saffron and apricot. A floral veil of Sambac jasmine and tiger orchid embody light and beauty.
The most recent addition to my collection is this mysterious-looking dark beauty. While I was first intrigued by the bottle, the scent is what kept me going back and back again to smell it.
To me, this fragrance is very sexy, deep and quite full of different notes. The sweetness is probably due to the honey and the incense might be what gives it a bit of a mystical feel to it. The scent is very intriguing and sexy, quite appropriate for the evenings.
Le Couvent des Minimes Eau Aimable Cologne

The fragrance features orange blossom, bergamot, mandarin orange, wild rose, nasturcia and petitgrain.

Quite unexpected scent for me, which seems quite logical as I was given it at the beauty blogger conference in October. But, it completely stole my heart and I’ve been wearing it a lot during the last few months. The oranges instantly remind me of the colder months and the bergamot brings the scent to a whole other level. Even though this seems like a very simple fragrance, but once it develops it becomes quite a sophisticated scent.

Avon Attraction

Top notes in the perfume pear nectar, tempting blackberry, pink pepper, the medium notes are magnetic musk accord, black orchid, night blooming jasmine and the base notes are addictive praline, vanilla amber and rockrose.

A woody, musky scent with a bit of fruitiness in there stays very true to its name, as this is a very attractive scent. Quite a sensual fragrance seems rather simple, despite all the different notes in it. It gives me the vibe of a powerful, business woman who really knows what she wants. Soon after I received it at the beauty bloggers conference my mum actually stole it from me, because she fell head over heels in love with it. I can see this one being a perfect gift for a mum or a grandma.

Lancome La Vie Est Belle

Iris is the key ingredient of the perfume, surrounded by orange blossoms and jasmine in the heart. The composition’s opening provides fruity flavours of black currant and pear, while the base is warm, gourmand and powdery due to almond-like accords of tonka bean, praline, patchouli and vanilla.

This one is a very rich, sweet but still fruity scent. On the warm, vanillary base, there are many different fruity and floral notes that make this fragrance smell a lot like a very delicious dessert. This would be a perfect finishing touch to a sparkly new-years outfit.

Britney Spears Fantasy Eau de Parfum

It opens with fruity mix of litchi, golden quince and kiwi. The provocative heart is composed of jasmine and white chocolate. The base combines orris root, musk and woods.

When it comes to really sweet scents, this is the one I tend to reach for. The white chocolate notes are very noticeable here, with a mix of different fruit that give the fragrance a very fresh feel. It’s probably the mush that gives this scent a bit of depth and makes it more special than a common sweet perfume.

& Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy Eau de Parfum

In the top notes there are exotic framboise, black cherry, and plum. The heart features a harmonious dialogue of night orchid, freesia and iris. Amber, musk and vanilla create a dark and warm trail.

Because I was so impressed with the original Fantasy, I also ordered this version online. Even though this doesn’t remind me of the original, it is a very lovely scent. A dark scent that features an intriguing combination of fruity and floral scents, which feels quite fresh but seems more appropriate for an evening due to the combination of different notes.

Essence Merry Berry TE Hair Fragrance

Not exactly a perfume, but a really nice scent is this TE item from the Essence’s Christmas collection. I love the concept of a hair perfume as I always like to have my hair smelling good. It’s not extremely long-lasting, but the scent is almost identical to the B.S. Fantasy mentioned above which makes it that more special to me. The subtle glitter in it makes it that much better for the festive season.

Here are the fragrances I’ve been reaching for in these months and I find them to be perfect for winter and think they would make a great gift.

What is your favourite fragrance to use in the winter?

See you tomorrow!
