Review: Melinera scented candles

Quite a while ago I found some beautiful looking candles in Lidl and decided I absolutely must try a few. I wasn't sure if I'll write a review or not, but I'm still seeing them in the stores, so I thought I'd write a quick review about them.

I decided to get two scents, firstly because the packaging of all the other candles was completely torn up (well done people!) and secondly, because I wasn't sure if I'll like them or not. I got the Evergreen & Silver Birch one and a Juniper & Jasmin one.

When it comes to packaging, these candles look amazing. To me even the box in which they come looks chic and way more luxurious that the price would suggest. Both candles come in a frosted looking white glass jar and have completely white wax which makes them look elegant and simple.

The scents of the candles are quite strong, promising a very good scent payoff when they are lit. The Evergreen & Silver Birch one smells like very fragrant forest, very light and fresh. The Juniper & Jasmin one is dreamy, with a strong jasmine scent that I absolutely adore.

The reason why I am not too crazy about them is the fact that they don't release any scent into the room. I'm used to candles that I can sense in the air when they are burning, but with these two, you need to get dangerously close to catch any scent at all.

They do seem to burn quite slow and evenly and in reality, they make quite a pretty home decoration. If you like candles as an atmosphere setter, than these will be a great budget option, but if you are looking for something to scent up the room, then you might want to pass on these.

Thanks for reading and see you in my next post!

  1. Se strinjam, za tako ceno so kar v redu. Jaz imam Blackberry & Violet, ki ima zelo prijeten in nežen vonj. Jo pa že tri tedne poskušam porabit, pa kar ni konca! :)
