Empties of 2015

Post about the products I used up are not something I write often, partially because I more or less talk about the products I like on the blog anyways and partially because I keep forgetting to actually keep the packaging once the product runs out. However, during last year, I actually managed to accumulate a few of the ones that I actually wanted to talk about and here they are:

Micellar Solutions

The last few years were undoubtedly marked by the appearance of micellar waters everywhere. I've tried quite a few, and in terms of price and efficiency, I'm currently sticking to the Garnier's one. But, as there were quite many that I've tried, I'll be making a separate post to talk about them all.

Bioderma Micellar Solution
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
L'Oreal 3-in-1 Purifying Micellar Solution
La Roche-Posay Physiological Micellar Solution

Skincare & Toiletries

Afrodita Young & Pure Purifying Foam
This one has been with me on-and-off for over 6 years. In that time it has been reformulated and repackaged, but it is still as good as before. When looking for a clearing, deep cleanser, this is a way to go. I'm currently trying out a few others, but will probably come back to this one eventually.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo +
Praised and recommended by many, this was my choice when my skin was acting up more than usually. It think it helped a little, but for now I think that I don't really need it and will not re-purchase immediately, but will keep it in mind for possible future skin emergencies.

It was a joy to use and I hope they bring it out again next year, as I will be sure to buy it again. Read more about it here.

A wonderful mask that would definitely already be repurchased if it weren’t for the steep price. Read more about it here.

Lovely scrub that quickly became a staple in my collection. Now that it is gone, I actually miss it and will have to get it again sometime soon. Read more about it here.

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo
As many of the Batiste dry shampoos that I've tried before, this one performed wonderfully. The scent was not my favourite, but very summer-appropriate. My only problem with this one is that that smallest size doesn't contain much product and is only good for a couple of uses.

Balea Aqua Serum
A wonderful, simple serum that does just what you need it to do. No special complicated additions, just simple hydration. It's my go-to for the summer months as it sinks into skin quickly and doesn't leave a greasy residue. I actually recommended it to my boyfriend since he really doesn't like to fuss around with his skincare, but will probable repurchase it myself in the summer.

Lush So White Shower Gel
While this did what it was supposed to, I wasn't overly keen on the scent which is quite rare for me when it comes to Lush. Currently I'm quite into their shower jellies, but that is a topic for a different post.

Perfume

Thierry Mugler Alien Eau de Parfum
Even though this was one of my first perfumes, it resides amongst my five top favourites. The scent is unusual and different to the most of the other perfumes I know and the note that is the most noticeable to me is the jasmine, one of my favourite scents ever. I was devastated to run out of it and will definitely get it again sometime in the future.

Yves Rocher Organic Vanilla Eau de Toilette
I grow fonder and fonder of Yves Rocher scents, they are very clean and natural, easy to wear on their own or mix either with themselves or other perfumes. This one was a gorgeous warm vanilla and I would love to own it again someday.

Makeup

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum
Very hyped-up on the interned and rightly so, this is a gorgeous slightly dewy medium coverage foundation that gives the skin a wonderful healthy look. It smells great and actually feels nourishing on the skin. It is one of my absolute favourites for the spring.

Catrice Velvet Finish
I was quite fond of this one early last year, but it eventually got a bit too heavy for me and I somehow forgot about it for a bit. However, it was a lovely and affordable drugstore option with good coverage for the winter.

Rimmel Match Perfection
This is a foundation that I am currently using and I've repurchased it quite a few times over the years. It looks fresh, but isn't overly dewy which suit my combination-oily skin.  It has medium coverage but can be built up to cover almost any imperfection while still maintaining a fresh, natural look.

L'Oreal True Match
For the longest time this was my go-to foundation. With a full coverage, it was what I choose to cover my teenage, acne-prone skin. Now, I like to have it in my collection for special occasions, when I want my skin to look flawless.

Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder
When working with combination-oily skin I like to rely on a good mattyfing powder to keep my makeup in place throughout the day. This one has been my favourite for a long time and I always keep a backup in my closet.

Catrice Prime and Fine Pore Refining Anti-Shine Base
I don't wear primer often, and it usually takes me a long time to use one up,  but this one was really lovely. It created a nice, smooth surface and worked well with any foundation.

Catrice Camouflage Cream
This was a very heavy-coverage concealer that covered any imperfection, but it unfortunately dried up before I managed to use it all up. Now that I have fallen in love with the Collection Lasting Perfection concealers, I'm not sure I would use it anymore.

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mega Volume
At first, I hated this mascara, but once the formula dried up a bit, it became one of my favourites. It gave my lashes that wow effect that we are all after and stayed on as long as I needed it to.

Maybelline The Rocket Waterproof
Still one of my favourite mascaras, it gives the lashes a lot of length and volume that lasts for the longest time.

ArtDeco All in One Waterproof
This one actually made my lashes look absolutely amazing, to the point where even my boyfriend wasn't sure whether I was wearing falsies or not. Unfortunately, it dried up very quickly and the formula eventually became so thick that I wasn't even able to open the tube.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 05 Eternal Gold
Before all the hype on the internet, I found a stand of amazing looking eyeshadow pots and couldn't leave the gold one behind. I think I had it for about three years before it eventually dried up. It was my favourite eye product; it lasts on the lids for hours and didn't budge for a bit. It worked either as a liner or an eyeshadow and I will definitely repurchase it again.

E.l.f. Lip Exfoliator
For a while, this product worked amazing. It exfoliated while moisturizing the lips at the same time, but the balm seemed to disappear sooner than the beads, which left me with a harsh base of beads that hurt the lips. The formula turned bad quite soon, and even though I was initially excited about the product, I would not purchase it again and will rather stick to my beloved Lush lip scrubs.

Catrice Ultimate Stay Lip Liner
Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of this liner, but it was a dark, berry shade. At first, it seemed great; it applied smoothly and looked amazing on the lips. But the moment I tried to rub the lips together, to speak or to smile, the product started to crumble and rub off in very big chunks. I threw it away after a few tries.

Kiko Nail Lacquer
I've talked about Kiko lacquers many times before on this blog, and this shade was my absolute favourite when I was in high school. Again, I'm not sure about the shade as I threw it away already, but no matter the shade, the range is gorgeous and has a fabulous formulation.

Golden Rose Rich Color
Another of my favourites, this line of polishes is great and dries to a wonderful, glossy finish. The shade was amazing for the summer, bright, lovely, and complimented tanned skin. I'll have to find it again to use in the summer.

your Beautysaur
