Best of 2014

It’s time for the yearly favorites! I took my time and picked the product that I loved most throughout the year. I’ll add the links to the posts where the products have been mentioned or reviewed before.

Face:

Catrice Velvet Finish Foundation

A lovely, full coverage foundation with a matte finish. Even though it does feel a bit heavy on the skin, the coverage and staying power make it the best foundation I’ve tried this year.

Catrice Velvet Finish Powder

This powder works great with the Velvet Finish Foundation from the same line. It sets the foundation and keeps my face matte.

Catrice Prime and Fine Pore Refining Anti-shine Base

The product glides over the skin and reduces the look of pores. The foundation applies better and stays on longer.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

You’ve probably all heard about it, and all the amazing reviews are true. The coverage is amazing; it blends seamlessly and lasts through the whole day.

Essence Bloom Me Up TE Shimmer Powder

To be honest, this is actually my first ever highlighter, but I adore it. It’s is a very fine shimmer that gives my face a lovely, healthy sheen.

Essence Beach Cruisers TE Bronzing Powder

This bronzer works great with my skin tone and blends nicely. I usually only use the matte brown part to add some warmth to the face, but the combination of the two colors works nice too. I use this most of the days when I wear bronzer.

Makeup Revolution blush –Hot

Until this year, I wasn’t using a lot of blushes, but since I’ve tried these, I like adding a bit of color to my cheeks. This one is a very pigmented hot pink color that gives the cheeks that pinched look.

Eyes:

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

Gorgeous rose gold eyeshadows and a lovely combination of shimmers and mattes. Eyeshadows are very smooth and buttery and blend perfectly. The staying power is great and I can usually get away with not wearing a primer.

Makeup Revolution Flawless Palette

I love this palette. There are so many different eye shadows, so many colors and different textures and finishes.  It is so versatile and so affordable!

Rocket Volume Waterproof Mascara

This was in my favorites last year and it’s making an appearance again. It gives my lashes so much length and volume. The staying power is amazing and even though it is waterproof, it is easy to remove with a makeup remover.

ArtDeco High Precision Liquid Eyeliner

Best eyeliner I have ever tried. I almost cry every time I have to buy it, because it is quite expensive, but it is worth it, and I can’t use anything else. The tip is extremely thin and precise, it is easy to work with and it stays on my lids throughout the whole day.

Essence Bloom Me Up TE nude eyeliner

I love using nude eyeliners on my water line and this one is great for that. There are two sides on it, one for the eyes and one for the brow bone and they both work great.

E.l.f. Eyebrow Kit –medium

This product is so affordable but so good! It works great on my brows, the waxy part shapes them and fills them in and the powdery part sets them, so they look great throughout the whole day –plus it works great as an eyeshadow.

Nails:

Essie Nailpolish –Fiji

This is a beautiful nude slightly pink color. The application is so easy and needs only 2 coats for full opacity. When I don’t know what to put on my nails, this is what I go for!

Essie Nailpolish – Blanc

Another favorite from Essie, everybody needs a white nailpolish and this one works great. I like that the application is very easy, and flawless after 2 coats. The only downside is the price, since I use the white polish a lot.

Essence Nailpolish –21 Icy Fairy

Icy Fairy swept the beauty world from their feet. I picked it up just because it looked like a lovely silver glitter, but then I learned you can use it over a black polish for a galaxy effect. I am obsessed with this!

Essence Studio Nails Hardener

This saved my nails this year. I’ve always suffered from nails breaking constantly. Now, they are strong, long and very healthy looking, all thanks to this product!

Brushes:

10 piece set of Jessup brushes

I can’t believe you can get incredibly amazing brushes for such an affordable price. Before I got these I was sure I’ll have to invest in some high end brushes to get some quality brushes, but these proved me wrong. They are incredibly soft, don’t use up too much product and blend the makeup perfectly. I bought the set of 10 and I am incredibly happy with them. Next year I am definitely getting some more, to replace my other brushes.  I got these form eBay here.

Essence Bloom Me Up TE Powder Brush

I had to mention this one, because it is amazing for applying powder. It picks up just enough product to set the foundation, and blends it gently, so it is practically invisible on the skin. The bristles on this are so incredibly soft!

Lips:

Labello Lip Butters (Vanilla Macadamia, Coconut, Raspberry Rose)

These are my favorite lip balms ever! Very moisturizing, smooth and they smell amazing!

Clinique Chubby Stick -Woppin' Watermelon

On days when I can’t be bothered with lipstick, this is what I use. It gives just the right amount of pink color to the lips and it is very moisturizing, so it almost works like a lip balm. It is so easy to apply and a great product to carry around in your purse.

Catrice Ultimate Stay Lipstick -070Plum&Base

There are so many people who love this lipstick and I am definitely one of them. It is a gorgeous purple-berry color with a semi-matte finish. It glides smoothly on the lips and lasts for a few hours at least!

Apocalips Lip Lacquer 304 Eclipse

This must be my all-time favorite lipstick. The color is amazing deep dark berry and it has a very shiny finish. The lipstick is opaque and glides on very smoothly and stays on incredibly long for a liquid lipstick. 

Body, hair & skincare:

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

After trying Bioderma, I’m all about micellar waters. This is Bioderma’s more budget friendly version and is a permanent part of my skincare. It removes all the makeup, even the waterproof mascara, without any problems. 

Cottage Le Caramel Exfoliating Shower Gel

This product smells so amazing; I wish I could eat it every time I open it. Big sugar-y bits exfoliate my skin and leave it feeling so fresh and healthy. The best part is that the scent lingers on the skin for hours after use, and you can smell like a delicious sweet the whole day!

Batiste Dry Shampoo

My hair gets greasy very quickly and because I don’t like washing it too often, I like to use a dry shampoo. The Batiste dry shampoos are my favorite, because they really hide the greasiness of the hair and make them look freshly washed for another day or two. Besides that, this product gives me so much volume without me even trying, it’s amazing!

L'Occitane Pivoine Flora Creme de Beaute

The scent of this product is so amazing I fall in love with it every time I open the jar. The product is self is incredibly moisturizing, sinks into the skin almost immediately and leaves it feeling firm and hydrated.

L'Occitane Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette

I was obsessed with the body cream version of this and decided I couldn’t live without a perfume version of it. I adore this product; it makes me smell so fresh and flowery!

Jewelry:

Primark Statement Necklace

I saw this necklace on the internet long before I went to England and I was so scary I wouldn’t find it after I finally got there. Luckily, they still had a few, and now I am a proud owner of this beauty. It’s a really big statement necklace with pastel colors that add something extra to almost any outfit. 

Primark Earrings

I love these kind of earrings and prefer them to the dangly ones. After buying these in the summer, they are basically the only earrings I wear.

Moon necklace

The moon necklace is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry ever. I wear this almost every day. I got this from my boyfriend, for our anniversary, and those of you, who have seen/read the Game of Thrones might know what the writing on it means.
